Meeting the client
Remember that the interview process is not just about meeting the prospective client, but ensuring that that the assignement is right for you!
Always maintain your addresse and phone numbers private. Conduct all contacts with the client through CareBear. That helps to ensure confidentiality of your your personal information.
Where possible we offer the client a choice of three candidates. The client already has received your information kit and he/she knows you a lot more than you know him/her. Always phone or meet the client before you turn up for the assignment. Then let us know how the interview/the meeting went.
All contact with the client must be through CareBear. Every day check with CareBear using your special code for any messages, changes to schedule.
When you are at the client’s premises
On the first day ask to be shown around the home. Check and confirm any unusual requests in the duty statement given to you. If you are not happy with any item please check with CareBear before you commit to anything. As far as practicable we will clearly state all the items/duties you have to carry out in the duty statement prior to your engagement.
§ Make sure you know the relevant safety information (e.g., location of phone, spare torch, keys, fire alarm).
§ Print up the “Emergency Information Checklist” (in the client resources section) and complete it with the client.
§ For each assignment please take the relevant task list with you. The task list will be mailed/faxed to you by Care Bear.
§ Refrain from using any telephone (even your own mobile phone). If you are expecting an important phone call, please tell the client in advance.
§ At the end of the assignment please ask the client to sign the time sheet for you.
§ Fax the time sheet CareBear on 02 8456 6067 by Monday noon.
